01 / Who we are
MagRose Learn (“MagRose,” “we,” “us”) is an educational platform operated by MagRose Media. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over it. It applies to learners, parents/guardians, mentors, and visitors to learn.magrosemedia.com.
02 / Information we collect
- Account information — name, email, password (hashed), avatar, age band, school/cohort, and (for users under 18) a parent or guardian email.
- Learning activity — lessons completed, quiz answers, XP earned, streaks, peer-review submissions, video submission URLs, and assessment attempts.
- Communications — messages you send to our AI assistant or to mentors and other learners through the platform.
- Device and usage data — IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and approximate location derived from IP.
- Cookies and similar technologies — see our Cookies Policy.
03 / How we use information
- Provide, secure, and improve the learning platform.
- Personalize lessons, track progress, award XP, and unlock rewards.
- Operate the AI assistant (your prompts are sent to our AI provider to generate responses).
- Communicate program updates, schedule reminders, and required disclosures.
- Detect abuse, enforce our Terms, and meet legal obligations.
04 / Children and FERPA / COPPA
MagRose Learn is designed for youth creators. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent, consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If MagRose Learn is provided through a school as part of its curriculum, we act as a “school official” with a legitimate educational interest under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and we will treat education records accordingly. Parents and guardians may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their child's information by contacting us.
05 / Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We share information only with:
- Service providers we rely on to run the platform (hosting, database, authentication, email delivery, AI inference) under contract and confidentiality.
- Schools or program partners when you participate in a cohort they sponsor.
- Law enforcement or regulators when required by law or to protect rights, property, or safety.
06 / Your rights (GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and more)
Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your personal information, and to opt out of certain uses. California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, correct, and limit the use of sensitive information; we do not sell or “share” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. EU/UK residents have rights under the GDPR/UK GDPR. To exercise any right, email office@magrosemedia.com.
07 / Retention & security
We keep information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, then delete or anonymize it. We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), encrypted databases, row-level security, and least-privilege access. No system is perfectly secure; we work to improve continuously.
08 / Changes & contact
We will post material changes to this Policy here and, where appropriate, notify you by email. Contact us at office@magrosemedia.com.
